A trip to the State Library of Victoria.....

...... There's more to it then just books you know!!

The SLV is home to some temporary and permanent exhibitions. One such exhibition is the one on Ned Kelly - and if you make the trip without a surly teenager - you will find ALOT of really interesting stuff.

Not only does the library hold the death mask, armour and photos - it also holds the original of the "Jerilderie Letter" written by Ned.

There is also some really cool art and book exhibits - but I was not able to really take all that in - but my attention was grabbed by an art piece by Richard TIPPING called "Hold Up Ahead".

Also, the largest comic book I have ever seen - being "75 years of DC Comics".

Apart from that I am in awe of the building itself. The history behind it and the story of its "life" is fascinating! (another blog maybe - one that I can do when I am back at home!!)

So, eventually I succumbed to the requests of " can we go nooooooww!" and we headed for a tram to take us to the zoo!!
