Finally the day was coming to an end - but there was still jobs to be done!
The biggest of which was the washing - so I packed a suitcase with the dirty clothes and wheeled off to the laundramatte around the corner!
It has been a VERY long time since i used a laundramatte - but it all came back to me! After counting out my coins, buying the washing powder from the man who just did not speak and wedging myself in between a mixing pot of people from all over the world, I started to cautiously put the washing in the machine - being REALLY careful not to drop the "smalls"!! Shut the door and press start!!
While waiting for the load to finish I look around and realised I was the only English speaking person there and quite possibly the only Australian born person - it reminded me of a game I used to play with my friends in Melbourne many years ago called "Spot the Skip!" or "Spot the Aussie" and, well I was it - so I won!!
When the load was washed it was into the dryer - again being careful not to drop the smalls!! Once it was all dry it was back into the suitcase and back to the apartment via the shortcut I have found through the Wesleyan Church!
Then it was time to rouse up Jess and look for some dinner - we went from wanting Italian to Chinese and finally settled on Indian!!
We headed off to Chinatown in the hopes of finding the market that was supposed to be on - it wasn't - but we did have fun!
Finally - we came across Gaylord Indian Restaurant. It was full of atmosphere and very nice food.
Jess has half a tandoori chicken and a naan bread. I had beef masala with a roti.
After dinner wandered up the lane and found some more graffiti outside a very noisy club - from Jess's point of view I was being irresponsible walking through a dark lane with lots of noisy drunk people! However - we both felt alot safer there then of we were walking around home at a much earlier time of the nite!!
Then the hunt for dessert - easy really when you walk past a Greek cake shop!! Baklava for me and a yoyo for Jess! But then we walked past a lolly shop called "Jerky House" so we bought some lollies too, oh and I bought some salty plums!!
They also had this really groovy icecream that was like very little tiny balls of icecream!!
All in all a really good day!!
Sunday is also a busy day!
